Tiny Tuesday! Little pink men.
Tiny Tuesday is a regular reminder that this world is wonderful and strange, especially when you take a closer look into the corners, cracks, burrows, or deep beneath the water, where life is small or hidden. I couldn't even dream up some of the creatures I've discovered on Tiny Tuesday. We live in a cartoon world, teeming with real life fraggles and mogwais.
Take this axolotl, for example. Are you freaking kidding me, world? This thing is for real!? They are rare salamanders that exclusively live in the large complex of lakes near Mexico City. Unlike other salamanders, adult axolotls never grow out of their larvae stage, so they live under water, and retain their cute baby faces and tadpole-like dorsal fins. They are long-lived carnivores, subsisting on a diet of mollusks, worms, crustaceans and fish. On average, they grow to be the size of a tea cup.
