Tiny Tuesday! Hubert's Duprat's extravagant cocoons!

tt

Hubert Duprat's extravagant cacoons from Cabinet Magazine, via Pinterest.

Typically, these Caddis fly larvae weave bits of their environment into their cocoons, usually fish bone, leaves, or grains of sand. Artist, Hubert Duprat, discovered their remarkable ability to adapt when he gave them gold, turquoise, gems and pearls.

You can read more about Duprat and his awesome larvae art in Cabinet Magizine. Watch the fly larvae in action here.

Extra thanks to Lilly, who graciously passed this article along for our Tiny Tuesday viewing pleasure. (Hiiii, Lilly! ::waves::)
