Tiny Tuesday: Dream Field Trip!

GASP! Hobbiton is a real place! At the risk of inciting a full-on, code red nerd alert, I must admit that a trip to the Shire is precisely my idea of the ultimate dream vacation. The Alexander Farm in Matamata, New Zealand, host to the filming of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, offers guided tours of the movie set and the beautiful surrounding countryside. Today, Hobbiton (including the fully intact, 17 remaining hobbit holes) is currently inhabited by the farm's 13000 sheep. The Alexander Family offers guided tours and farm stays.

I wish I were a hobbit.
