California, here we come, right back where we started from ...

Next month, Kurt and I are flying to San Francisco, renting a car, and traveling all the way up the coast until we find Oregon. I've always wanted to do this, so I'm out of my mind with excitement. My brother and I were born in San Francisco, but our parents swept us away to Kentucky when we were just two and three years old. Don't even have one measly memory of the place.

If everything pans out like it should, we'll make our way through wine country, hike through the Redwoods and camp on the beaches. We plan on exploring the towns of Humboldt County, then up to see the Oregon coast for a short bit before heading home.

If you have any opinions on where to eat/stay/go, please advise.

  1. I was just in San Fran and am upset I found out about the huge camera obscura the day I arrived home! Looks awesome: http://www.somethingshidinginhere.com/my_weblog/2010/08/giant-camera.html

  2. It feels like everyone is booking/making happen the trips of their dreams of late! How exciting! No suggestions other than - bliss out. xo

  3. In San Francisco try SPQR---great Italian food in Fillmore and in the Mission taco trucks and bi-rite creamery. Flora Grubb nursery in South San Francisco is the coolest place ever. They have a rusty car planted with succulents. And on the way up the coast do not miss Trees of Mystery. The name says it all.

Speak your mind.
