No. 1: Sunday, July 18th, 2010. Treasure collected on the Blue Trail @ JMF (click photo for notes).
Here's the first installment of my new collection series. Each week, I'll photograph a new collection of treasures, gathered during one of our weekly adventures. Here is my hoard from our Sunday hike at Jefferson Memorial Forest. We opted for the Blue Trail (2.7 miles), which lead us up and around the holler, across a dried-up creek bed, among groves of acorn and hickory. I'd never before seen so many beautiful butterflies in the forest. Many as big as my hand, all fluttering along the trails, as if they were tourists like us just out enjoying a Sunday stroll.
Tiny mushroom peeks out from under a branch.
