Rings and things.

Kurt and I designed my engagement ring using the materials from a diamond ring that belonged to his grandmother. It was a neat process, taking something old and turning it into something new. A local jeweler in town converted our ideas into a neat CAD rendering, and then from there created a wax model. Isn't that crazy? We watched the 3D virtual ring rotate over a green grid system on a monitor - kind of like in the movies where the bad guys are reviewing prototypes for a new war machine or maybe an escape route out of a casino they're going to hoist. It was kind of like that, but not really. Because love is not like Terminator or Oceans 11- or at least I hope not.

On Friday, we got the ring back from the jewelry man! Here is what it looks like:

Here is the ring that has turned me into a little Gollum.

It is perfect and I am in love with it. I refuse to take it off, even when it snags my hair in the shower. Sometimes I like to aim it at him and squint, while making little laser gun sounds. "Pew! Pew! Pew!" Like that.

Also, P.S.
Sometimes Kurt packs my lunch. Last week he went through the extra effort to peel and cut my carrots just how I like, and I didn't have to ask or even tell him how I liked them. I know he just throws his carrots in his lunch bag unpeeled and gnarly, but not mine! And this morning, I found this in my lunch bag:

I hope this isn't all too mushy in a nauseating sort of way. He he heeeeeeeeeeeeee

  1. Love is exactly like The Terminator. The T-800 is an elaborate metaphor for love. I could've misinterpreted those movies though.
